Whether you are a family with full ski kit, a group splitting across apartments, a corporate ski trip with a schedule to keep, or a traveller who would never consider a shared coach, a private vehicle takes the whole of this long journey off your hands.

How Much Is a Geneva to Les Deux Alpes Transfer?
A private Geneva to Les Deux Alpes transfer starts from £594 to the resort centre. That covers 133 miles in around two and a half hours in good conditions, in a vehicle used by your party alone. The price is fixed when you book, for the whole vehicle.
Your group size and luggage decide the vehicle class, from an estate car to an executive minibus. Where you are staying matters too, since the neighbouring villages are priced at booking, and so does the week you travel, as peak holiday weeks are the most sought after.
From Grenoble Airport, a transfer to Les Deux Alpes starts from £252, which is £342 less than from Geneva and about an hour shorter on the road. If a Grenoble flight costs about the same and lands on the day you want, our Grenoble to Les Deux Alpes transfer is the better choice. When Les Deux Alpes travellers ask us to price both airports before booking flights, it is usually the flight times, not the transfer, that settle it.
At the from-price, £594 shared by four comes to about £149 each, although the final price depends on the size of vehicle your group needs. A shared coach seat is a different product, so it is not a like for like comparison.
Once booked, the price stays put: there is no meter, and nothing is added on the day for a slow motorway or fresh snow on the climb.
Meeting Your Chauffeur at Geneva Airport
Arriving at Geneva
Your chauffeur will be waiting in arrivals with a name board. We track your flight, so if you land early or late, your pickup time moves with you and you do not need to call ahead.
On this route, a landing at about nine in the evening puts you in Les Deux Alpes close to midnight in good conditions. Your chauffeur is booked for the time you actually land, whatever the hour. Let your accommodation know your expected arrival time before you travel. On late runs, our chauffeurs will usually ring ahead from the Chambon dam turn, so whoever is meeting you knows you are close. With no change of vehicle and no stops for other passengers, tired children can sleep for most of the drive.
Returning to Geneva Airport
We set your pickup time by working back from your airline's check-in and bag drop deadline, allowing for the descent of the D213 to the Chambon dam, the run down the Romanche valley and the conditions on the day. On a winter Saturday we add extra time on top, for changeover traffic around Grenoble.
We confirm the time and place before your departure day. Booking your return with your outbound transfer keeps both legs on one booking.
Vehicles Built for Ski Gear
We match the vehicle to what you are carrying. Estate cars suit smaller parties with soft ski bags. Larger MPVs and executive minibuses take groups of six to eight with full equipment.
Bigger parties often face a choice of one vehicle or two. Two families sharing an apartment, with children and full kit, can easily reach nine people. Tell us your group size and kit when you book, including anything oversized, and we will say whether everyone fits in one vehicle or whether two will make the long drive more comfortable. If you need child seats, tell us at the same time.
Winter Timing Tips
Saturday changeover slows the motorways towards Grenoble and the valley road beyond, and fresh snow slows the D213 climb at the end. Rather than quote a fixed delay, we plan your pickup around your flight, the day and the forecast.
Season length is where Geneva comes into its own. The resort's ski area page gives the 2026/27 winter season as 28 November 2026 to 2 May 2027. High-altitude skiing on the glacier at 3,600 metres follows from 3 to 30 May, then training skiing, mainly for racers and ski teaching, from 31 May to 4 July 2027. With Grenoble's UK flights mainly a winter service, our May and June runs up to Les Deux Alpes nearly all start at Geneva, often for ski clubs and race squads carrying long skis. Check the resort's published opening dates before you book.
Book peak weeks early. Christmas, New Year and February half term are the tightest dates for vehicles and chauffeurs, particularly the larger vehicles groups need. Midweek is just as easy: a private transfer travels when you do, on any day and at any hour. For more, read our guide to seamless transfers from airports to ski resorts.

Book your transferThe Geneva to Les Deux Alpes Route
From Geneva Airport the route crosses into France and heads south on the A41 past Annecy, then Aix-les-Bains and Chambéry. It continues past Pontcharra to Grenoble, leaves the motorway at Vizille and follows the D1091 up the Romanche valley through Le Bourg-d'Oisans. At the Chambon dam the D1091 carries on towards Briançon, and the D213 turns off up the mountain to the resort. That is the final approach given in the Les 2 Alpes tourist office directions.
The motorway covers roughly the first two thirds of the 214 km and is predictable. The valley road and the climb are where the weather and the day make the difference. That is why operators and journey planners quote anything from about two and a half to three and a half hours. Our figure is the fastest route on Google Maps in good conditions, and we plan from there.
Roadworks or weather can close sections of the D1091. The resort's road conditions page says roads are regularly cleared of snow, but advises drivers to check Itinisère, the Isère department's road information service, before setting out. If you are travelling with us, we monitor conditions on the route for you.
Which Airport Is Best for Les Deux Alpes?
The best airport for Les Deux Alpes is the one with the best flight for your dates. Grenoble is the closest, but Geneva is worth the longer drive in several situations.
- Grenoble Airport to Les Deux Alpes: 109 km (68 miles), from £252, about 1 hour 34 minutes
- Geneva Airport to Les Deux Alpes: 214 km (133 miles), from £594, about 2 hours 33 minutes
- The difference: £342 and about an hour on the road
Grenoble Alpes Isère Airport sits at Saint-Étienne-de-Saint-Geoirs, about 45 km from Grenoble itself, and its UK flights are mainly winter services. Geneva offers a wider choice of airlines, UK departure airports and flight times, with scheduled flights all year. It wins when its flight lands at a better time, leaves from an airport nearer home, costs less overall, or runs on dates when Grenoble does not.
If your Geneva flight is booked, this transfer is a sensible way to finish the journey. If not, compare both: our Grenoble Airport transfers and Grenoble to Les Deux Alpes pages cover the other way in. Lyon Saint-Exupéry, about 160 km from the resort by the tourist office's figure, is a third gateway, covered on our Lyon Airport transfers page.
Les Deux Alpes is one of our destinations in France. If you are still choosing a resort, our Geneva to Alpe d'Huez transfers serve its Oisans neighbour.
Other Ways to Reach Les Deux Alpes
- Private transfer: around two and a half hours in good conditions, from £594 for the vehicle, leaving when you land.
- Shared coach or minibus: priced per seat, so cheaper for solo travellers, but it runs to set departures, often built around Saturdays, with stops for other passengers.
- Train or bus: there is no direct train or bus from Geneva. The resort's getting-there guide says all trains lead to Grenoble, about 70 km away, with buses up the valley from there, some changing at Le Bourg-d'Oisans. It works with light luggage, but it is a long day with ski bags.
- Hire car: a similar driving time, plus fuel, tolls, paid parking in resort and the winter equipment rules below, with the D213 climb to drive yourself at the end of a long day.
Shared and public options suit solo travellers and flexible dates. A private transfer suits groups, ski kit, children and late arrivals.
Local Rules on the Road to Les Deux Alpes
Les Deux Alpes is in Isère, and on the mountain roads where France's Loi Montagne applies, winter equipment is compulsory from 1 November to 31 March. The resort's road conditions page sets out the choice: either four winter tyres or four 4-season tyres to the 3PMSF standard, or removable anti-skid devices such as chains or snow socks. You need one or the other, not both.
If you hire a car at Geneva, check its winter equipment before you leave. If you travel with us, your chauffeur drives in a vehicle prepared for the season.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long is the transfer from Geneva to Les Deux Alpes?
Around two and a half hours in good conditions, over 214 km or 133 miles. That figure is the fastest Google Maps route, measured off peak with no snow. Saturday changeover traffic and snow on the D213 climb can add time, so we plan your pickup around the day you travel.
How much is a private transfer from Geneva to Les Deux Alpes?
From £594 for the vehicle to the resort centre, fixed when you book. Your final price depends on your group size, the vehicle class you need and where in Les Deux Alpes you are staying, with the neighbouring villages priced at booking. Nothing is added on the day.
Which airport for Les Deux Alpes?
Grenoble is the closest airport, at 109 km, with transfers from £252 and about 1 hour 34 minutes on the road. Geneva suits travellers whose best flight, departure airport or dates point there. Our Grenoble to Les Deux Alpes transfers page covers the shorter route.
Is there a direct bus or train from Geneva to Les Deux Alpes?
No. There is no direct bus or train between Geneva and Les Deux Alpes. Public transport runs via Grenoble, where you change for a bus up the Romanche valley. It is possible, but with ski bags and children it is a long journey with at least one change.
Do I need snow chains or winter tyres?
If you drive yourself between 1 November and 31 March, you need one or the other. The resort asks for four winter tyres or four 3PMSF 4-season tyres, or removable anti-skid devices such as chains or snow socks. On a private transfer, your chauffeur's vehicle is prepared for the season.
What if my flight lands late?
Your pickup moves with it. We monitor your flight, and your chauffeur waits in arrivals for the time you actually land, however late. On this route a late landing means a late arrival in resort, so let your accommodation know your expected arrival time before you travel.
