Meeting Your Driver at Singapore Changi Airport

Arrivals

Changi Airport operates across four terminals. Terminals 1, 2 and 3 are interconnected and linked to the Jewel complex. Terminal 4 is a separate building served by a shuttle bus to and from Terminal 2. Your booking confirmation will confirm the terminal matching your incoming flight.

In Terminals 1, 2 and 3, your chauffeur will be waiting in the Arrival Meeting Hall on the ground level, holding a personalised name board with your name clearly displayed. In Terminal 1, the meeting point is near the Information Counter at the centre of the arrival gates, in front of the Dragonfly Garden. In Terminal 2, drivers position themselves near Doors 4 to 7 in the arrivals hall. Terminal 3 and Terminal 4 arrivals are met at the equivalent points in their respective arrival halls.

Your driver monitors your flight from the point of departure and adjusts for any delay or early arrival. Contact details are included in your booking confirmation if you need to reach your driver directly.

Departures

Your driver will collect you from your hotel, serviced apartment or chosen address and deliver you to the correct departure terminal at Changi Airport. Confirm your terminal when booking or update it once your airline issues your check-in information.

Luggage Porter

A porter service operates across all four terminals, assisting departing passengers with luggage from the kerbside to the check-in counter and arriving passengers from the baggage belt to their vehicle. The service is priced at S$5 per item with a minimum charge of S$15, and bookings should be made at least six hours before your flight's arrival or departure time.

Luggage Storage

Staffed baggage storage operates 24 hours a day across all four terminals and in the Jewel complex, managed by Smarte Carte. A baggage delivery service is also available, allowing you to drop luggage at any storage point and have it delivered directly to your hotel in Singapore.

Shopping and Dining

Changi Airport has over 200 dining and retail outlets across its terminals and the Jewel, making it one of the best-provisioned airports in the world for eating and shopping. Standout dining options include:

  • Ya Kun Kaya Toast — a Singapore institution with outlets across all three main terminals. The menu centres on charcoal-grilled kaya toast with butter, perfectly soft-boiled eggs and a cup of traditional kopi or teh. It has been a fixture of Singaporean breakfast culture for over 70 years and is one of the most characterful stops in the airport.
  • Bengawan Solo — Singapore's best-loved Peranakan confectionery, with outlets in all three main terminals. Known for its Nyonya kueh, layered kuey lapis cake and seasonal pineapple tarts, Bengawan Solo's distinctively packaged boxes make it a popular gift for passengers heading home.
  • 4 Fingers Crispy Chicken — a Singaporean-born fried chicken brand known for its Korean-style wings and drumlets, open 24 hours in the transit areas. One of the more popular late-night options across the terminals.
  • WOKE Ramen — a 24-hour ramen concept in Terminal 1 serving wok-fried broth with chicken or prawn bases, a distinctive local take on the Japanese format.
  • Old Town White Coffee — a Malaysian kopitiam-style café chain offering white coffee, traditional breakfast sets and light rice and noodle dishes. A popular stop for passengers connecting through from or to Kuala Lumpur.
  • Ichikokudo Hokkaido Ramen — a Japanese ramen restaurant in Terminal 3 with rich, slow-cooked broths and hand-made noodles, a step up from the fast-food options if you have time before your flight.
  • Marché Mövenpick — a Swiss market-style restaurant in Terminal 3, serving freshly prepared international dishes including pastas, salads, grills and waffles from open kitchen stations. One of the better sit-down dining options airside.
  • Swensen's — the American-style ice cream parlour and diner that has been a fixture of Singapore dining since the 1970s, offering sundaes, grilled meals and comfort food alongside its ice cream menu.

The Jewel complex, connected to Terminals 1, 2 and 3 and built around the world's largest indoor waterfall, adds a further layer of dining and retail. Jewel houses Tim Ho Wan, the Michelin-starred Hong Kong dim sum chain; Shake Shack; A&W, a nostalgic favourite that still draws long queues in Singapore; and a broad range of regional Asian and international restaurants set beneath the glass dome and Rain Vortex.

Duty-free shopping at Changi spans perfumes, spirits, tobacco, confectionery and electronics, alongside luxury fashion at brands including Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Burberry and Prada in the transit areas. Local souvenirs, Singapore-made products and gifts are available at Changi Recommends outlets across all terminals.

Timing Your Singapore Transfer

Arriving Into SIN

Singapore has one of the most efficient immigration processes of any major international hub. For most nationalities, automated clearance lanes reduce the time at passport control considerably. Allow approximately 30 to 45 minutes from landing to clear immigration, collect your baggage and exit through customs. During peak periods this can extend to an hour, but Changi typically processes arrivals quickly relative to its volume.

Your Airport Executive driver waits from the moment your flight touches down, so you will be met regardless of how long the process takes.

Departing From SIN

For international departures, we recommend arriving at Changi Airport at least three hours before your scheduled departure time. Check-in for most international flights closes 60 minutes before departure, so building in additional time is advisable, particularly if you plan to use the lounges or explore the Jewel before your flight.

Top Attractions Near Singapore Changi Airport

Marina Bay Sands and the SkyPark
The most iconic structure on the Singapore skyline, Marina Bay Sands is a hotel, casino, convention centre and entertainment complex crowned by the SkyPark observation deck on the 57th floor. The deck offers panoramic views across Marina Bay, the city, Sentosa and the Strait of Singapore, and the infinity pool is one of the most photographed hotel facilities in the world. The complex anchors the Marina Bay waterfront, which is approximately 14 miles from the airport.

Gardens by the Bay
Immediately adjacent to Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay is one of Singapore's most visited attractions. The 18 towering Supertrees, ranging from 25 to 50 metres tall, function as vertical gardens and come alive each evening during the Garden Rhapsody light-and-sound show. The two glass conservatories, Cloud Forest and Flower Dome, house rare plant collections from around the world, including a 35-metre indoor waterfall and misty highland landscapes recreated under climate control.

Sentosa Island
Singapore's dedicated leisure island is connected to the mainland by road, monorail and cable car. It concentrates a remarkable range of attractions within a compact area, including Universal Studios Singapore, Adventure Cove Waterpark, S.E.A. Aquarium, three beach clubs and a casino. Cable car views across the harbour and southern islands are one of the better ways to arrive on the island for the first time.

Clarke Quay and Boat Quay
The Singapore River waterfront is one of the most atmospheric parts of the city, particularly in the evening. The restored shophouses and godowns of Clarke Quay and Boat Quay are lined with restaurants, bars and outdoor seating that spills along the riverbank. It is one of the most social and lively spots in the city for an evening drink or dinner.

Chinatown and Kampong Glam
Singapore's historic cultural districts offer two very different but equally rewarding experiences. Chinatown centres on Sri Mariamman Temple, the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and a network of streets filled with traditional shops, hawker centres and clan houses. Kampong Glam, the Malay and Arab quarter, is anchored by the Sultan Mosque and the colourful shophouses of Haji Lane, now known for independent boutiques, cafes and street art.

Singapore Zoo and Night Safari
Widely regarded as one of the world's finest open-concept zoos, Singapore Zoo houses over 2,800 animals in natural-habitat enclosures without visible bars or cages. The adjacent Night Safari is a unique tram-based experience through nocturnal habitats after dark, where visitors encounter animals in naturalistic settings under careful lighting designed not to disturb them.

Orchard Road
Singapore's famous shopping belt stretches for around two kilometres through the heart of the city and is lined with department stores, luxury brands, lifestyle centres and food courts. Ion Orchard, Paragon, Ngee Ann City and Mandarin Gallery cover the full range from mid-market to ultra-luxury. Orchard Road is approximately 15 miles from the airport.
